Wedding and Portrait Photography

Photojournalism is the practice of recording real events with a limited editorial license. The journalist must be aware of his or her influence on the event, and adjust accordingly. In its purest form, the journalist is an objective observer. But, as with other kinds of documentary photography, the wedding and portrait photojournalist has a license to use creative and artistic techniques to record personalities and events.

“My goal as a photojournalist is to capture and preserve the beauty, character and emotion that is displayed before me. I want to convey those qualities to the viewers of my images.”

Ladale Lloyd is an award-winning journalist who spent nearly 20 years covering major news, feature and sporting events as both a photographer and writer. As a photographer, Ladale’s work has appeared in national and regional publications such as Ebony, Jet, Seventeen, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and Tampa’s Urban Business Magazine, to name a few.

Ladale has also taught photography courses at The Ohio State University and the University of South Florida.

He studied photography at Alabama State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree, and The Ohio State University where he received a Master of Arts degree.
